Kav LeOved is a non-profit organization that aims to defend labor rights for all workers in the Israeli labor market, regardless of religion, nationality, gender or legal status.

The organization recently issued an urgent call for new legislation to protect outdoor workers from the impacts of climate change, including temperature rise and extreme weather events.

Currently, what the Ministry of Labor did regarding this matter was to draft and disseminate a guide to reduce workers' exposure to risks such as heat stress. Among other things, companies and institutions are recommended to have job rotation, breaks, promotion of hydration and training for workers.

However, there is still no regulatory obligation on the labor market to review alerts or comply with health and safety regulations tailored to the potential consequences of working outdoors, including heat stress, radiation levels, wind forces and pollution. from air.

Kav LeOved recommends funding for training and information for workers, supervision and enforcement of health and safety rules, and also the creation of an information center.
