Since the fateful Saturday, October 7, 2023, when hordes of the Hamas terrorist group stormed southern Israel, attacking a music festival and entire families in the peace of their homes, the Jewish people have faced a huge increase in anti-Semitic hatred, both in quantity as well as quality.

Abundant disputes are taking place in the field of social networks, which have served to structure and disseminate a misleading narrative, misinforming regarding the realities on the ground, details, circumstances, figures, etc. to the point of distorting the understanding of historical facts.

In this way, we have been facing slanderous messages on various platforms, in which, for the most part, in the absence of valid and serious arguments, they attack without knowledge, irresponsibly, adding a tangle of insults, clichés, terms empty of content and of course , do not resist confrontation with different disciplines. In numerous cases they monopolize the figure of the inverted red triangle, an emblem that the glorifiers of Hamas have made fashionable as a result of this Israeli war against Palestinian Islamist terrorism and that many, some knowing and others ignoring its origin and meaning, have been flooding social networks.

El inverted red triangle It is a symbol that has had some meanings over time, but one of the most relevant and tragic is related to the use that the Nazi regime gave it during World War II. Nazi troops classified prisoners in concentration camps with different colors to recognize the reason for their confinement. The inverted red triangle was dedicated to marking political prisoners, that is, those who were arrested for their opposition to fascist tyranny, including communists, socialists, anarchists, social democrats.

Today, the inverted red triangle has been identified with Hamas. Since the beginning of the war in Gaza, it is being used by the terrorist clique to mark Israeli targets for attack. This symbol is linked to the tactics of Abu Obaida al-Jarrah, a military commander very close to the Prophet Muhammad and refers to the organization of soldiers in the shape of a triangle, with the tip facing the enemy. Others explain that the inverted red triangle has its origins in the Palestinian flag, created in 1964; This is what the Qatari network commented Al Jazeera, calling him “an icon of the victory of the resistance.”

According to researchers, the inverted red triangle that is associated with Nazism has no direct link with Hamas, whose representations, such as the flag and shield, are linked to Islamism and Palestinian nationalism, and without historical links with Nazism. They claim that any coincidence is not due to a specific historical connection. However, in countless cases we have witnessed violent protests by Palestinian terrorists brandishing swastikas. This was palpable and common in 2018, during the so-called Great March of Return, when the massive weekly demonstrations of Gazans, called by Hamas, towards the border with Israel, burned tires and through the dense smoke banners with drawings of swastikas could be seen; Of course, this was within the context of expressions of anti-Semitic hatred and therein lies the similarity and continuity. Additionally, the act of marking houses and people to be attacked is also connected with Nazism, although they do not have the same origin.

It is no coincidence that Nazism and Hamas, which is currently distinguished as Islamofascism, based on anti-Semitic nonsense, assert their intention to eliminate Jews from the world, as part of their criminal nature and ideology.

  1. I think giving more identity to Hamas makes no sense. Israel has to do now what it did not do in 2008. Since it did not eliminate Hamas in 2008, now unfortunately the war is becoming very complicated.
