The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, will call the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, after the attack that left 37 dead when thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies exploded in Lebanon, an attack attributed to the Hebrew State by the Lebanese Executive and the Shiite militia Hezbollah.
The French presidency issued a statement to report on the telephone conversation between Macron and the top Lebanese authorities, led by the country's prime minister, Najib mikati, in the context of the explosions that have caused at least 37 deaths and almost 3.000 injuries.
Macron has conveyed to the Lebanese authorities his "Serious concern over explosions contributing to a dangerous escalation of tensions in the region, endangering civilians".
The French president told his interlocutors that he would meet with "the Prime Minister of Israel" to discuss these attacks and stressed that "all parties must act to avoid war."
Hezbollah and the Lebanese government maintain that Israel was responsible for the attack, although Israeli authorities have remained silent.
