Keren Kayemeth LeIsrale, the Jewish national fund, has a large historical archive from the first decades of the history of the State of Israel. This is why, as part of the commemoration of the 76th anniversary of Israel's Independence Day, KKL-JNF presented a series of unpublished archive photos that capture the birth of the state.

Regarding this move, KKL Archives Director Efrat Sinai said that “as we approach Israel's 76th Independence Day, we are pleased to share archival treasures that chronicle the saga of Israel and Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund, showing the resilience and unity that are paramount, especially in our current times.

Furthermore, Sinai added that “these images are powerful reminders that even during tumult, the unbreakable unity of the Israeli people shines bright, steadfast and undefeated. “We at KKL-JNF pray for the safe return of the abductees and send warm wishes to all Israelis for a happy Independence Day.”

For example, some of the images show the military parade in Jerusalem in 1949, just one year after Independence. Another shows a group of yeshiva students receiving training at a shooting range in Jerusalem during the 1948 War of Independence.
