The possibility of a war between Israel and the terrorist organization Hezbollah is gaining strength after Israel has mobilized an additional 50.000 reservists and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that the country is ready for an "extremely strong" military response against Lebanon .

Hostilities on the border between Israel and Lebanon have intensified in recent weeks with the exchange of fire between the parties, the largest since 2006, raising fears of an open war.

“Whoever thinks that we will sit idly by is wrong. We are prepared for extremely strong action in the north. “One way or another we will restore security in the north,” Netanyahu threatened today at a visit to the troops brought in Kiryat Shmona, on the border with Lebanon after several days of intense cross attacks.

With this situation, and the war in Gaza still ongoing, the Ministry of Defense has mobilized 50.000 more reservists, adding to the 300.000 who were already there since October 7. Since then, 287.000 reservists have been called up, the largest recruitment in Israel's history.

The total mobilization of 350.000 reservists is currently in force until August 31, according to the provision approved by the Ministry of Defense, which requires the approval of the government cabinet, although it is a mere procedure.

"Yesterday the ground was burning here and I'm glad they put it out, but the ground was also burning in Lebanon," he said on a tour of the area. in reference to the large fire that yesterday devastated some thousand hectares near the town of Metula, caused by shrapnel from launches and which took firefighters about twenty hours to extinguish.

This morning, the Israeli air defense intercepted a drone in the Metula area, where the sirens have not stopped sounding, as throughout the north, in the last week, due to the constant launches claimed by Hezbollah. The group claimed responsibility today for three rocket and artillery attacks against Israeli military posts.

Israel has more than 60.000 people evacuated by state order from the communities closest to the border, and another 20.000 displaced voluntarily from towns in the north..

“What burns here is not only the north, but also Israeli deterrence and honor. The State of Israel was abandoned by the government. “They must be replaced.”, stated today the head of the opposition, the centrist Yair Lapid from the communities bordering Lebanon.

He and Netanyahu have not been the only ones to move north. The Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, and the Chief of the General Staff, Herzi Halevi, already did so yesterday, for a “security assessment” with the troops, while the war cabinet held an emergency meeting on the subject last night.

“We are reaching the point of making a decision, and we are prepared for this decision,” said the military chief.

The war cabinet minister, Benny Gantz, even dared to set a date for the end of hostilities: the beginning of the school year on September 1, “either through diplomatic agreement or military escalation.”

Former security advisor Eyal Hulata - in the previous Lapid government - also believes that September 1 should be the deadline, but he trusted that there are still three months left to restore calm and for northern residents to return home. "Hezbollah is not interested in war now, not because of the consequences for Lebanon, but because it is premature for Iran's strategic calculations," he said.

“All Hezbollah strongholds must be burned and destroyed. War!", cried, much more forcefully, the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, from the border in a video message.

  1. Attack Hezbollah? Hamas needs to be finished and for that there are still more than 10 thousand terrorists. One wrong step and this would be fatal.

    1. Since Israel is small, they want to gang up on it, but they are going to finish the 2000-year dream.

  2. In no way warn
Enough of laughing. Leave all of southern Lebanon without water, without electricity, without gas, without roads, without supplies.
If they continue shooting, leave a huge hole in southern Lebanon, pass the tanks over the houses there, there are no hostages

  3. "If someone is coming to kill you, rise up against him and kill him first.": quote from the Talmud.
