Activity for children: giant rugs inspired by children's books are installed at the National Library of Israel

La National Library of Israel It houses more than 5 million books and is located on the Givat Ram campus of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. There are rare or unique manuscripts, books and pieces of craftsmanship.

This summer, the library designed and inaugurated a section specially designed to promote children's reading. Poof Sipur is an event that takes place between July 28 and August 8, designed for children between 5 and 11 years old. 

This is a unique celebration of textile pillows inspired by favorite children's books.

The children Now you can go and enjoy two hours of stories in Hebrew, experiential theater, crafts and, also, the star of the event, the opportunity to lie down with a good book on one of the nine gigantic pillows.

Designed by a team of artists and textile designers, the poofs They are inspired among other things by the biblical story of Joseph and his colorful robe, Rumpelstiltskin, the Greek myth of Penelope, and also the stories “The Emperor's New Clothes” by Hans Christian Andersen and “Juha and the Coat”.
