Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, stated today on social networks that “the attempt by the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (CPI) Karim Khan to distort the facts will fail.”

The minister stressed that the parallel that the ICC prosecutor has drawn between the terrorist organization Hamas and the State of Israel is despicable and unpleasant.”

Gallant stressed that “Israel is neither a party nor recognizes the authority” of the International Criminal Court.

“Prosecutor Karim Khan's attempt to deny the right of the State of Israel to defend itself and release the hostages must be rejected outright,” said the head of the Defense portfolio.

The ICC prosecutor asked on Monday for Gallant and the prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, arrest warrants for alleged “war crimes.”

Gallant stressed that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) fight respecting international law.

"As Minister of Defense, I support and congratulate our troops, who defend our people and fulfill the extraordinary privilege and obligation of defending ourselves," the minister stressed.

Khan requested the arrest of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu; from his Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant; as well as the head of Hamas in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar; the commander-in-chief of the Izz ad Din al Qassam Brigades, Mohammed Deif; and the head of the political bureau of the Islamic terrorist organization, Ismail Haniyeh, domiciled in Qatar.

Netanyahu, for his part, questioned with what authority the ICC compared "the monsters of Hamas with the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the most moral army in the world."

  1. Gallant reaps what he sows. His attacks against the National Unity of Israel result in the difficulties he experiences today. He is on par with his Hamas friends.

  2. If we can accuse the prosecutor of terrorism and try him in absentia and try to bring him home
Things come to mind that I can't write. you know
The opposite of turning the other cheek

  3. Basically, it is nothing more nor less than another attempt to undermine the Jewish state from without. It's nothing new...

  4. Like it or not, International Law prevails. Israel is left alone and even more so if Trump wins. Thousands of civilians killed in Gaza outnumber civilians killed. Internally divided Israel. History will not absolve and being Israeli and Jewish will not be the same.
