Air France and its low-cost subsidiary Transavia France intend to resume their flights to Lebanon this Thursday, which had been suspended since July 29 due to security conditions in that country, and given the risk of further extension of the conflict in Middle East.

A spokesperson for the French flag company pointed out that the resumption of operations tomorrow is conditional on "the evolution of the security situation" in Lebanon.

He also stressed that "Air France follows in real time" what is happening in the Middle East and that the continuation will depend on "a daily assessment" of the situation on the ground.

This means that, if there are no setbacks, Air France will once again have a daily flight between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Beirut in each direction. Transavia France, for its part, will once again operate eight flights per week between Paris-Orly and Beirut, to which are added two per week between Marseille and the Lebanese capital and one per week between Nice and Beirut.

In any case, for security reasons these companies will continue not to fly over the airspace of Syria, Iraq or Lebanon, except when in the latter case it is necessary for landing and takeoff maneuvers.

Customers who had an Air France ticket that they have not been able to use due to the suspension of flights in force since July 29 can request to exchange it for one starting August 15.

In addition, the possibility of canceling a trip at no cost, with a refund of the ticket, remains valid.

Air France maintains its flights between France and Israel, unlike other Western companies that have canceled them due to the conflict in the Middle East. EFE
