According to a Health Ministry report, only about half of Israelis are currently vaccinated against COVID-19. In the past this number reached 70%, but the vaccination of other times is no longer effective for the new strains.

The latest strains, JN1 and HV1, part of the Omicron family, are spreading rapidly in many countries, including the United States. The JN1 strain has been detected in hundreds of people in Israel, and also has new symptoms, such as anxiety and sleep disorders.

In addition, the country is simultaneously facing an increase in flu cases. Roni Ferber, Director of Public Health at Clalit, explained that “the flu arrived a little late this year, which created a false sense of security among the public.” In recent weeks, the increase in cases led to a higher rate of hospitalizations, which strains the health system.

The Ministry of Health warned about an increase in morbidity in adults and children, since there are hundreds of babies and elderly people admitted to hospitals for severe pneumonia. The laboratory tests of these new patients reflected cases of influenza A and B, coronavirus and RSV.

The vaccination numbers recorded by different health centers worry the medical community. In Leumit, only 65.000 of the 120.000 available vaccines were administered, which represents a decrease of 15% compared to the same period last year. Something similar happens in Clalit. where only 150.000 of the 260,000 available doses have been used.

  1. It would be interesting to know how it affects. who have never been vaccinated and do a study regarding those who have ever been vaccinated for covid.
And see if the vaccine has weakened the primary health of each of us, even if it is for just a few doses.

    1. It makes sense Ezra, I have my reservations regarding the effectiveness of the "vaccines", since they fail to prevent the transmission of the virus, that is, those vaccinated also become infected and spread the virus.

      1. It is true that it does not prevent transmission, but it will allow the infected person to survive, which is no small thing.
