Born in Syria in 1961 and nicknamed 'Hajj Mohsin', Shukr, who died as a result of an Israeli operation that also killed two other people and left at least 68 injured of various degrees in the Haret Hreik area, in the south of the Lebanese capital, was "the highest-ranking military leader" of the armed formation, according to Israel.

He was considered the group's "chief of staff," the IDF said, adding that he was in charge of Hezbollah's most advanced weapons arsenal, particularly precision missiles, cruise missiles, coastal missiles, long-range rockets. and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones); and he was responsible for planning the attacks against Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces have announced the elimination of Shukr, although Hezbollah has so far not commented on the death of its commander, which represents a severe blow to the terrorist formation allied with Iran.

A "global terrorist" since 2019

According to the profile published by the United States Department of State, Shukr was the military affairs advisor to the secretary general of Hezbollah and was designated as a "global terrorist" in September 2019 by the United States.

He also played a central role in the October 23, 1983, attack on the US Marine Corps barracks in Beirut, in which 241 US service members were killed and 128 wounded.

He joined Hezbollah in 1985 and has since held various senior positions in the organization, including on the Jihad Council, the group's top military forum.

In the 2000s, according to Israel, he promoted "terrorist attacks" against the Israel Defense Forces and the South Lebanon Army (pro-Israel), and in XNUMX he was directly involved in the kidnapping of the bodies of the three Israeli soldiers killed by Hezbollah while patrolling on the border.

Responsible for the attack in Majdal Shams?

The murder of Shukr in this Israeli operation is part of the response announced by the Jewish State, which promised to respond "harshly" to the massacre of twelve children on a soccer field in the Druze town of Majdal Shams, in the Golan Heights. in northern Israel.

The minors died in the impact of a rocket loaded with 50 kilos of explosive - made in Iran and which only appears in Hezbollah's arsenal -, although the allied formation of Tehran initially claimed responsibility for an attack on the area and then tried to disassociate from the fact.

Israeli authorities consider Shukr to be most responsible for the massacre of the twelve children in that attack, as well as the "murder of many Israeli citizens and foreigners over the years."

  1. Another son of the devil who is sent to the place where all the corrupt, murderous, terrorist servants of Iran should be: hell!

  2. This makes me think that none of the terrorist leaders are beyond the reach of Israel's long arm.

  3. Now that the USA gives the 5 million dollars to Israel for having eliminated this Hezbollah terrorist
