Following the suspension of many air routes to Israel following the October 7 Hamas attack and the escalation of the conflict with Hezbollah on Israel's northern border, many international airlines have now resumed their normal flights to Ben-Gurion International Airport.
However, until now no American company had resumed flights to Israel, until United Airlines recently announced the gradual reactivation of its flights between New York and Tel Aviv starting March 15.
The first daily flight will depart from Tel Aviv to Newark Airport on March 15, with a second daily flight to follow on March 29.
In an official statement, United Airlines explained that the decision was made after a thorough operational evaluation and in coordination with the unions of pilots and flight attendants. The airline reaffirmed its historical commitment to services to Tel Aviv and the safety of its passengers. In addition, the company assured that it will continue to evaluate the possibility of expanding its operations based on demand.
