A car accident occurred early Tuesday morning at the Hakfar Hayarok junction on Route 5, north of Tel Aviv, Israel.
A fire broke out after a collision between two vehicles, trapping the passengers. The tragic incident left three men dead, aged 30, 35 and 44.
The three men were declared dead at the scene by emergency services who responded to the scene. Israel Police have launched an investigation into the accident, and have warned that one of the vehicles involved may have been stolen.
The accident brings the number of people killed in traffic accidents in Israel in 2024 to 394, according to data from the road safety organization Or Yarok.
The figure is alarming because with one month left in the year, the total number for 2023, which was 331, has already been far exceeded. In addition, this year's victims include 37 children, the highest number in the last 14 years.
