Long Journey is the name of the new venture capital fund created by Arielle Zuckerberg, sister of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Lee Jacobs, managing partner of the firm Long Journey, among other investors.
The fund reaches a total amount of $181.818.181,80, which beyond being a million-dollar figure, has a special significance in Jewish numerology, where the number 18 represents "chai," life.
Jacobs explained that his motivation to launch this fund was reinforced by the October 7, 2023, attacks in Israel, which prompted a deep reflection on his purpose and commitment to life and creation.
In the release statement, Jacobs recounted that “growing up, I was often given gifts in multiples of 18 as a blessing for life,” adding that “this fund, with its repeating 18s, symbolizes my commitment to supporting life and innovation.”
Jacobs also emphasized that his mission is to support founders with a unique and disruptive vision, whom he described as magically strange, with the goal of sending a message of resilience, creativity, and faith in the future.
