Abad, who was appointed ambassador with the mission of promoting peace between Israel and the Palestinians, thus assumed the task of avoiding an escalation of violence in the conflict zone and thus trying to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe, the letter states.
"This demonstrates President (Daniel) Noboa's commitment to maintaining an international policy that prioritizes dialogue and inalienable respect for human rights," he adds.
Abad has indicated that he believes in "better days not only for the sovereign people of Ecuador but for all humanity, hatred, disputes and revenge do not allow us to move forward, on the contrary, the exchange of ideas, understanding and empathy "They are noble and unique characteristics of the human race, therefore, we will fully fulfill the function that has been assigned to me by constitutional prerogative."
The vice president traveled to Israel on Friday where she had to appear at the request of Noboa.
In his farewell message, through a video on social networks, Abad noted that he has accepted this special mission "with great courage and fortitude."
"I am not going to deny, I am a little afraid, but my love for serving those in need gives me the strength to lead, putting this challenge on my shoulders," he added.
Trip to Israel
The vice president traveled to Israel on Friday, a day after publishing a statement on social networks in which she indicated that the decision of President Noboa's government regarding her mission was made without prior planning.
The vice president launched this criticism by pointing out that she asked different government departments to be informed of the planning for the fulfillment of this mission and that what she had received were "excuses."
He noted that on Thursday he was informed that due to the urgency of this process he could not proceed safely.
"As a mother with guardianship of my children, it is my duty to protect their lives and physical integrity," said the vice president, who did not report whether she traveled with her children.
In Thursday's statement, Abad regretted "the hasty decision" to appear at the Ecuadorian Embassy in Tel Aviv, which had "prevented the different institutions from finding a legal figure and there are several inconsistencies," he said.
But Abad reiterated that she would fulfill the mission entrusted to her by the president, who decided to send her abroad after a distance between the two became evident, which began to be felt since the same electoral campaign.
Distancing
Noboa and Abad were not seen together in activities prior to the second round, while some of the statements of the then vice presidential candidate generated controversy.
After winning the elections, they only coincided in events where both of them had to be present, such as the delivery of credentials to elected authorities and, a few days later, in the presidential change of command ceremony.
Abad maintains that she was not invited to the official lunch held at the Carondelet presidential palace after the investiture, and that is why she went to eat with vendors at a market in Quito. EFE and Aurora
antics…….these people should clarify concepts before putting on stunts that go nowhere…..peace is not the same as victory…. The Arab Muslims, as the conquering and imperialist people that they are, do not accept only the victory... or the same is the peace of the cemeteries, as in Nagorno Carabakh a few months ago
