"Hello Gorgeous," an "eclectic" exhibition that includes costumes, photos, videos, album covers and other objects by American artist Barbra Streisand, will be on view starting in October at the Jewish Museum at the International University of Florida (JMOF-FIU).
As announced by the institution, the exhibition dedicated to the mega star and living legend Barbra Streisand, who will turn 80 in 2022, is projected as a look at her life in Brooklyn, her first steps towards stardom, her extraordinary career and her activism in name of social justice.
“We are very proud to be the only museum outside of New York City to host this colorful exhibition exploring the life of a living legend, accompanied by stellar educational and curatorial programming,” said museum executive director Susan Gladstone Pasternack. .

The Jewish museum's fall/winter exhibit includes Streisand's 1959 yearbook from Erasmus Hall High School, as well as some of her early nightclub bookings, including one from New York's famed Bon Soir.
You can also see her original dress with the sailor shirt from her first television special, "My Name is Barbra"; the original robe she wore in the musical film "Yentl" (1983), and a portrait of her that was used for the 1964 Time magazine cover, loaned to the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery, among other personal items.
"Barbra Streisand is truly a force to be reckoned with and her beautiful voice, humor and highly acclaimed performance have cemented her status as one of the most brilliant artists to date," explained exhibition curator Jacqueline Goldstein.
According to the curator, "Barbra's civil rights activism, along with her philanthropy, rival the successes of her acting and singing careers combined."
"Hello Gorgeous," which echoes the title of the famous movie "Hello Dolly," is "a window into the woman behind the feisty, strong, fierce comic star."
