The official spokesman and media chief of the terrorist group Hezbollah, Mohammed Afif, was killed in an Israeli bombing on the headquarters of the Arab Socialist Baath Party in Lebanon, in the center of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

Afif was in the bombed building, the Party's secretary general explained, Ali Hijazi, in statements to Lebanese television Al Mayadin.

“Muhamad Afif was fighting with weapons and did not lead any Hezbollah military unit, but rather headed a press office,” Hiyazi added.

The Israeli army resumed its attacks on the Haret Hreik neighborhood in the southern suburbs of Beirut early Sunday morning, stronghold in the capital of Lebanon of the terrorist group Hezbollah, which responded with at least three attacks on Israeli positions in Haifa and the Golan.

“Under the direction of the Intelligence Authority, Israeli Air Force fighter jets launched a series of strikes against the military headquarters and other Hezbollah terrorist structures in the southern suburban area of ​​Beirut,” Israeli Army spokesman Avichai Adraee announced on his social media account X.

Previously, the Israeli colonel had communicated a new forced evacuation order for residents of the surrounding areas four buildings in the Beirut neighborhood and 15 towns in southern Lebanon, the other major scene of the Israeli offensive against the militias.

“Hezbollah has systematically embedded its terrorist infrastructure among the Lebanese civilian population, cynically exploiting them as human shields (…) Prior to the attacks, numerous measures were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including prior intelligence gathering, the use of aerial surveillance, and the issuance of advance warnings to the civilian population in the area,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a brief statement.

Hezbollah, for its part, has claimed responsibility for three attacks in the last few hours., starting with the one that occurred around 06.30 this morning against Israeli positions on the other side of the border, south of Khiam.

The extremist group also claimed an attack on the barracks Maale Golani, with a barrage of missiles and a rocket salvo against Kerioth, an Israeli town located north of Haifa.

“Around twenty projectiles were identified as coming from Lebanon and entering Israeli territory,” towards the Haifa Bay and Western Galilee regions, the army said in a statement, adding that several were intercepted. Emergency services have not yet reported any injuries.

On Saturday, the head of the Israeli army, Herzi Halevi, had warned that his country will maintain attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon until they have guaranteed the “safe return” of the more than 60.000 evacuees from communities in the north.

“Hezbollah will continue to fire and we will continue to fight, implementing plans, going further, conducting deep strikes and hitting Hezbollah very hard. We will stop when we know that we are bringing the residents back safely,” Halevi said.
