General Hoseim Salami, commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Guard, took aim at the Donald Trump administration following the recent US military operation against the Tehran-backed terrorist group.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard warned Sunday that it would respond "devastatingly" to any attack on the country, after US President Barack Obama Donald Trump, ordered an attack against the Houthis in Yemen and warned Tehran to cease its support for the terrorist group.

"I warn to all the enemies that Any threat carried out (against Iran) will provoke a harsh, decisive and devastating reaction"said the commander-in-chief of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, General Hoseim Salami, in a speech in the northwestern city of Oroumiyeh, the Mehr news agency reported.

Trump announced yesterday that the United States attacked the Houthis in Yemen for their offensive against shipping in the Red and Arabian Seas, in about bombing that have caused at least 31 deaths and a hundred injuries.

The Republican also warned the Iranian regime that its Support for that terrorist group must cease immediately.

“Support for Houthi terrorists must stop immediately! Do not threaten the American people, their President (…) or the world’s shipping lanes. If you do, watch out! Because the United States will hold you accountable, and they will not take kindly to it,” Trump said on his Truth Social network.

“To all Houthi terrorists:your time is up and their attacks must stop from today! If they don't, “Hell will break loose upon you like you have never seen before!”, warned the president, who extended his threat to the Iranian regime, which he accuses of financing the group's operations.

Salami, meanwhile, reiterated that the Islamic Republic "has no role in the policies of the resistance groups" and that the Houthis "make their strategic and operational decisions independently."

"We are not a nation that operates in secret."We are a recognized and credible military power in the world. If we attack somewhere or support someone, we will declare it explicitly," he stated.

Despite Salami's statements, the Iranian regime leads the so-called "Axis of Resistance," an anti-Israeli alliance made up of the terrorist groups Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis of Yemen, and various Iraqi militias, all of which are supported and financed by Tehran.

Hours before Salami's remarks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that the United States has no authority to dictate its foreign policy, in response to Trump.

What is the US seeking with this attack?

The Shiite group was designated a terrorist organization by the United States in early March, a measure Trump announced via executive order upon returning to the White House and which impacts anyone who supports them financially or materially.

However, this is not the first time this has happened, as in January 2021, almost at the end of his first term, The Republican president had already designated the Houthis as terrorists, but Joe Biden lifted the order due to the humanitarian crisis.

But Trump's real threats to the Houthis came Saturday night, after they had assured on Wednesday that they would resume attacks against "any Israeli vessel," leading the US to launch attacks against several cities in Yemen, leaving at least 31 dead and more than XNUMX injured.

The president assured today that “No terrorist force will prevent American commercial and naval vessels from navigating freely through the world's seaways.”, in a message full of warnings to Iran, whom he asked to stop its support for the Houthis.
