At least six people were killed and two others wounded on Saturday in a new Israeli bombardment targeting Hezbollah troops in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, ten days before the expiration of the extension of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Shiite terrorist organization.

The Lebanese National News Agency (ANN) reported that an Israeli drone bombed the Shaara area, adjacent to the eastern city of Janta, killing at least six people and wounding two others.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement that an Air Force plane carried out an attack in the Bekaa Valley on Saturday targeting “Hezbollah agents operating at a strategic weapons manufacturing and storage site” belonging to the organization sponsored economically and militarily by Iran.

“The activity at the site constitutes a broad violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the military institution added, recalling that the Israel Defense Forces continue to operate to “eliminate any threat” against the Jewish State.

He also said that Israeli fighters "will prevent any attempt by the terrorist organization Hezbollah to rebuild its forces, in accordance with the ceasefire agreements."

This attack comes less than 24 hours after another bombing raid targeting Hezbollah military targets also in eastern Lebanon.

On November 27, a cessation of hostilities initially planned for 60 days came into effect. It provided for the withdrawal of Israeli forces present in Lebanese territory and for the possession of weapons in the border strip to be limited to the hands of the Lebanese security forces.

The duration of the agreement was later extended until February 18, after the Lebanese army delayed fulfilling its obligations.

The text calls for the dismantling of non-state weapons production facilities and also prohibits either side from carrying out attacks against the other, while preserving Israel's right to "self-defense."

  1. Better to liquidate them than to take hostages to feed them, take care of them and then exchange them for thousands against some dead or almost dead Israeli.
