El Paraguayan Government expressed its repudiation and condemnation of the attack that left 12 children dead due to the impact of a rocket fired from Lebanon against a soccer field in the city of Majdal Shams, in northern Israel.

"The Government of Paraguay repudiates and condemns the cowardly attack on civilians perpetrated by the terrorist group Hezbollah that cost the lives of minors," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the South American country published on the social network X.

The Foreign Ministry described the attack as "atrocious aggression" and sent its condolences to the families of the victims.

"Actions like this should not be accepted by the international community," the note continued.

A projectile fired from Lebanon hit a soccer field in the city of Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights yesterday, Saturday, as confirmed by the Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service.

The fall of the rocket also left around thirty people injured, six of them in serious condition, 10 slightly injured and several victims with symptoms of anxiety, according to an MDA report.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) considered this to be the deadliest attack against Israeli civilians, since the restart of the conflict in the Gaza Strip, following the events of October 7, 2023.

In this context, the Government of Paraguay took the opportunity to support the "right to defense that the government and people of Israel have", a position that it has maintained since the war in the Gaza Strip was reactivated.

Israeli military sources indicated that behind the attack "is the terrorist group Hezbollah, which has very powerful rockets."

In a despicable attempt to evade responsibility, the Lebanese Shiite terrorist group Hezbollah, armed and financed by Iran, denied having attacked the city of Majdal Shams, despite the fact that it had claimed responsibility for up to seven attacks against northern Israel throughout Saturday.
