Tomer Gershenman is a producer who has been working in the Israeli hip-hop scene for over 20 years, as well as being the host of the popular rap show Jigga Juice.

In December 2024, as Israel faced a difficult context due to the war with Hamas and Hezbollah, Gershenman carried out an ambitious musical project: Mitz LaMax, a rap album that brings together 71 artists and reflects the evolution of the genre in the country.

The album features 16 original songs performed by leading figures in Israeli rap, including Jimbo J, Tuna, Peled, Sima Noon, Kobi Oz, Ravid Plotnik, Eden Derso and Shaanan Streett, among others.

In addition to Gershenman, Matan Sharon and Roy Doron, a frequent collaborator of rapper Jimbo J, collaborated on the album's production.

While most of the album was recorded before October 7, the war with Hamas created uncertainty in production, and there was even consideration of halting the project, but the decision was ultimately made to move forward.

Since its release, Mitz LaMax has reached over half a million streams on Spotify, cementing rap's place in the Israeli music scene.
