In this context, in which the government is criticized for not meeting its own greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets, the National Planning and Construction Committee approved new regulations that require the installation of solar in all new single-family homes and non-residential buildings.

El Ministry of energy He explained that the decision will save the investment involved in the land and the construction of solar fields and the cost of extending the electrical network.

These regulations will come into force once they are published in the official gazette, which should occur in the coming weeks. According to the new regulations, it will be mandatory to install panels in homes of at least 100 square meters and in non-residential buildings with ceilings exceeding 250 square meters.

Despite everything, the government has already reconsidered the emission reduction goals, from 30% to 19% by 2030.
