In the final stretch of the Israeli Premier League season, a thrilling victory for Maccabi Haifa turned the standings upside down. The team won 3-1 over Hapoel Hadera.
In the 33rd minute of the match, captain Menashe Zalka surprised Hadera by taking the lead, which they maintained until the break. But in the second half Dia Saba equalised with a header from Dolev Haziza's cross. The decisive goal came in the 85th minute, thanks to Abdoulaye Seck. Dean David sealed the victory in stoppage time, securing all three points for Haifa.
Amir Nussbaum, Haifa's assistant coach, said they were proud “of our players for turning around such a difficult match.”
It wasn't the only exciting match of the day. Maccabi Bnei Reineh beat Hapoel Beersheba with a goal from Muhammed Shaker in the 78th minute, and Maccabi Tel Aviv and Beitar Jerusalem drew 1-1 at Bloomfield Stadium.
