In a moving gesture of solidarity, 59 London Marathon runners participated this Sunday wearing yellow caps and carrying photographs of the 59 hostages held captive in Gaza, calling for their release after 570 days of captivity.
Each runner was assigned to one of the hostages, wearing their name printed on their cap and a portrait on their chest, along with T-shirts that read “Bring them Home Now” and yellow ribbons, symbolizing hope and resistance. This action was part of an initiative by the Forum of Families of Hostages and Missing Persons.
Along the route, friends, family, and supporters held banners and Israeli flags and chanted "Am Israel Jai," demanding the immediate release of the hostages.
British Jewish influencer Yoel Levy, who ran dressed as Batman in tribute to Ariel Bibas, joined the cause on his own initiative. “I want to represent British Jews and show that we care, a lot, about what happens in Israel,” Levy said.
Two activists from the Youth Demand group, Willow Holland (18) and Cristy North (38), disrupted the march, throwing red powder and accusing the British government of complicity. Both were arrested and remain in custody, according to local media reports.
