The Jewish Climate Trust, led by Nigel Savage, is a new climate initiative that emerged in response to the rollback of federal climate programs under the administration of new US President Donald Trump. Since its creation, the organization has raised an initial investment of $18 million.

Savage, the group's CEO and founder, stresses that the American Jewish community must step up its environmental efforts in the face of climate-unfriendly policies implemented by the new president.

The initiative was launched on Thursday, coinciding with Tu Bishvat, a holiday that celebrates the renewal of nature, tree planting and the Jewish connection to the environment.

In addition, Savage's initiative announced that it is seeking to support projects like Adamah with $3 million, to strengthen climate advocacy within the Jewish community and promote green business leadership.

Another $3 million will also be donated to environmental organizations in Israel, focusing on sustainability principles in rebuilding communities near Gaza affected by recent attacks.
