Jared Isaacman is an entrepreneur, founder of Draken International, a private air force supplier, and the founder and CEO of Shift4 Payments, a payments processor.

On Thursday, Isaacman made history by becoming the first person to take a private spacewalk, not being a professional astronaut. Accompanied by SpaceX, he emerged from a capsule hundreds of miles above Earth to test the company's new spacesuits,

This milestone in commercial space exploration occurred as part of a five-day mission funded by himself and Elon Musk's company.

The spacewalk was shorter than NASA's extended spacewalks on the International Space Station, which typically last seven to eight hours, lasting less than two hours, and after ten minutes outside the capsule, Isaacman was replaced by SpaceX engineer Sarah Gillis.

From the capsule, high above the South Pacific, Isaacman said: “At home, we all have a lot of work to do, but from here, it sure looks like a perfect world.”
