Max Fried is an American professional baseball player who plays as a pitcher, currently for the Atlanta Braves, an MLB team where he made his professional debut in 2017 after being drafted in 2012.

Fried recently signed a landmark eight-year, $218 million contract with the New York Yankees, making it the largest deal ever for a Jewish player in the league, surpassing David Price’s deal with the Boston Red Sox in 2015 and Alex Bregman’s $100 million contract with the Houston Astros in 2019.

The 30-year-old Los Angeles native has a 3.07 ERA in 151 starts and is a two-time All-Star and three-time Gold Glove winner.
