A few hours ago, the Israeli Army announced that vehicles carrying the coffins delivered by Hamas to Gaza have entered Israeli territory. These coffins contain the bodies of Oded Lifshitz, 84, and the three members of the Bibas family who remained in Gaza: Shiri Bibas, of Argentine origin, and her two sons, Ariel and Kfir.
Following this news, Argentine President Javier Milei promised to declare a day of national mourning in honor of Kfir and Ariel Bibas, the two Argentine children killed in Gaza.
This was announced via social media by Sabrina Ajmechet, president of the Argentine Human Rights Commission: “Now, Israel has confirmed that tomorrow the bodies of Kfir and Ariel Bibas will be handed over. Kfir and Ariel were both Argentine citizens. Two Argentine babies murdered by Hamas terrorism. I hope that never again, after this, I have to hear that what happens in Israel and Gaza is not our business, not the business of all Argentines.”
He added that the president "will declare a day of national mourning for them," and thanked him "for his commitment to democracy, to freedom, to Western values and to the fight against terrorism."
However, he clarified that "we will wait for official information on the DNA results of the bodies and that, if confirmed, Argentina will then declare a National Day of Mourning in their honor."
