Vayyar Imaging, an Israeli company founded in 2011 and based in Yehud, partnered with the Japanese company Aisin to produce a chip that is installed in vehicles and sends radio waves that create 3D images to identify and send an alert in the in case a child or baby has been left inside the car.

The dangerous phenomenon that occurs when a child or baby is left in a closed vehicle with high temperatures is called “forgotten child syndrome.” The consequences can be very serious, and even fatal. In Israel, for example, it is recorded that between 2010 and 2020 there were 34 deaths for this reason.

En Japan, a three-year-old boy died in September of last year due to this syndrome. His death occurred after being left on his daycare bus for five hours on a hot day.

This is why the Japanese government is taking measures to make safety devices mandatory in all child transport vehicles. Based on that security decision, the country decided to resort to a production and distribution agreement with the Israeli technology company.
