Jackie Dubrovich and Maia Weintraub are two Jewish fencers who are part of the American team, which is completed by Lee Kiefer and Lauren Scruggs.

Last Thursday, the U.S. team took gold in the women's team foil competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

They managed to win against Italy, with a score of 45-39, thus securing first place in the discipline.

Weintraub deferred his senior year at Princeton University to devote himself to Olympic training. He debuted in Paris, a competition in which he briefly replaced Dubrovich during the competition in order to be eligible to share the team medal.

On the other hand, for Dubrovich, a graduate of Columbia University where she studied Russian literature, these are her second games. She had already competed in Tokyo, at which time she was close to getting a medal.

There are six Jewish competitors among the 20 in the American fencing delegation. In addition to Wintraub and Dubrovich, another American representative is Nick Itkin, who became the first Jewish athlete to win a medal at the Paris Olympic Games in fencing, taking bronze for the United States in the men's individual category.
