Israeli soldier dies in fighting in southern Gaza

An Israel Defense Forces soldier fell in combat in the southern Gaza Strip, the military spokesman announced.

The deceased fighter was identified as Sergeant Omer Ginzburg, 19, of the 101st Battalion of the Parachute Brigade. Ginzburg was a native of Kiryat Tivon, in the north of the country.

Ginzburg was killed in a sniper attack in Khan Yunis, attributed to the Hamas terrorist group.

In this way, the number of soldiers killed in combat since the beginning of ground operations against the Islamic terrorist organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip, at the end of October, rises to 332.
