An Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reserve soldier who was seriously injured during fighting in southern Lebanon two weeks ago has succumbed to his wounds, a military spokesman announced.

The fallen fighter was identified as Staff Sergeant (Reserve) Guy Shabtay, 39, of the Alon Brigade's 8207th Battalion. Sabtay was originally from Jerusalem.

Shabtay was seriously wounded during an exchange of fire with the Iranian-armed and funded Shiite terrorist group Hezbollah in a town in southern Lebanon on October 26, in which five other reservists were killed and more than a dozen others wounded.

  1. What a pity, the death of another Israeli at the hands of Hezbollah's bloodthirsty friends of death! My sincere condolences to his family and to Israel.
