Israeli naval forces have captured a "senior Hezbollah member" in the coastal city of Batroun, some 54 kilometers north of Beirut, in a special operation, Israeli military sources said Saturday.

"The agent has been transferred to Israeli territory and is currently being interrogated by Unit 504. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will continue to act wherever necessary to protect the State of Israel and its citizens," the military said in a brief statement today.

The arrested man has been identified as Imad Fadel Amhaz, a senior member of Hezbollah's military wing and responsible for the organization's maritime operations.

In a separate development, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed on Saturday the death in an airstrike of the commander of a missile and rocket unit Jafar Khader Faour in the Yuaiya area in southern Lebanon, according to a military statement.

Faour was responsible for “multiple rocket attacks towards the Golan, including the attack that resulted in the deaths of Israeli civilians from Kibbutz Ortal (and) the attack on Majdal Shams, in which twelve children and teenagers were killed,” according to the source.

The Shiite terrorist group Hezbollah launched more than 130 rockets from Lebanon into Israeli territory today, according to an IDF spokesman. In one of these attacks, eleven people were injured early this morning after a rocket hit a house in Tira, an Arab town in central Israel.

  1. In the two Iranian attacks and in the latest Hezbollah bombings, the victims were predominantly Arabs, given that they are a minority in Israel. Is there any explanation for this?

    1. And the Israeli military base where 4 soldiers died and 60 were wounded, near Binyamina?
Another one near Haifa with several wounded.
      All this in October 2024.
Is there an explanation for the biased information?
