Maccabi Health Services has launched its first innovative coronavirus sampling position. The position was placed in Jaffa and allows the process of taking sterile samples from the moment of subject identification until the transfer of the sample to Maccabi's central laboratory. During the test, patients are on the street side and the person performing the test is placed in a completely isolated cell. This means that the model does not have to wear protective equipment. When the sample is taken, the equipment connected to the holder is immediately and automatically disinfected, allowing a quick pass to perform the next test.
The position was planned by Engineer Itamar Feda, Property and Logistics Manager at Maccabi Central District, with the professional guidance of Dr. Daniel Kohn, Medical Director of Maccabi Jaffa area. In a quick process that took about a week, the position was developed at the Ism Segev Industries plant.
The Ministry of Defense has expressed interest in considering the possibility of producing such stands on a large scale and is in contact with stand planning staff. Furthermore, the position is of great international interest, and several countries have already contacted us to transfer this mechanism.
