Israel reveals Omer Neutra was killed on October 7 and his body is being held captive in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the death of Captain Omer Maxim Neutra, 21, who was killed and kidnapped by the Islamic terrorist group Hamas during the massive attack on October 7, 2023 against military bases and communities in southern Israel.

Neutra was originally from New York. He had joined the ranks of the IDF as a “lone soldier” and served as a platoon commander of a tank battalion of the 77th Brigade of the Armored Corps.

Until now, Neutra, who held dual US-Israeli citizenship, was believed to be alive and had been taken hostage.

However, the IDF has now announced that he fell in combat against Hamas terrorists in one of the battles during the massacre. His body was kidnapped on the border with Gaza and taken captive to the Strip.

The Military Rabbinate has declared his death based on recent findings and new intelligence.
