Israeli aircraft attacked the outskirts of the southern Syrian city of Deraa on Monday, the second such attack against the area in a week, official media reported.
The official Syrian news agency SANA reported that “occupation aircraft (Sic) Israelis are launching airstrikes against the outskirts of the city of Deraa,” specifically in the west of the city.
The Daraa24 network detailed that the Israeli attack "targeted a military site in the suburb surrounding the city of Deraa, followed by violent explosions resulting from the destruction of the weapons attacked in the raid. Aircraft continue to fly over the area, along with reconnaissance aircraft."
On March 10, Israeli aircraft launched several attacks against the outskirts of the towns of Jbab and Izraa, in the northern province of Daraa.
Since the fall of Assad, Israel has operated strategically in Syria, seeking to prevent the neighboring country from becoming a launching pad for terrorist attacks against Israel.
