El UK Department of Business and Trade (DBT) its acronym in English), published a report that provides information on the main foreign investments in the country.
That report reveals that Israel is one of the main assets in foreign investment projects in the United Kingdom: it is part of the top 20 European countries, according to a per capita assessment for the period 2023-2024.
Luxembourg, Ireland and Sweden take the top places in the per capita ranking, followed by Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Finland, Austria and Israel.
Without taking into account the per capita value, Israel is in position number 13, with a total of 19 investment projects in the country during 2023.
Simon Walters, UK ambassador to Israel, stated that “this achievement reflects the strong alliance between the United Kingdom and Israel. “Despite regional challenges, both nations continue to collaborate, fostering innovation and economic growth.”
Additionally, Walters added that “the UK remains committed to providing a favorable environment for Israeli businesses to grow and prosper, reinforcing the great potential of our shared economic partnership. “The UK remains a strong and welcoming destination for Israeli companies looking to expand their global presence.”
The 19 Israeli companies that have established or expanded their operations in British territory created a total of 532 new jobs in the financial technology, healthcare and cybersecurity sectors.
