The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that its anti-missile batteries successfully intercepted a ballistic missile launched by Houthi terrorists in Yemen.
Air raid sirens were heard across central Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, due to fears of falling missile fragments after the missile was intercepted.
There were no reports of injuries or significant property damage.
This is the third missile launched against different areas of Israel this week from Yemen by the Shiite terrorist organization Ansar Allah (supporters of God, in Arabic), commonly known as the Houthis, which has taken over the north of that Arab country. Also this week, it launched an unmanned aircraft (drone) against Israeli territory that was shot down in the air.
The Houthi terrorist attack comes after the Israeli government approved an agreement to release the hostages and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
