Every year, the Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford publishes a World Happiness Report in collaboration with Gallup and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
Finland led the ranking for the eighth consecutive year, followed by Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden. Among Latin American countries, Costa Rica and Mexico entered the top 10 for the first time, ranking sixth and tenth, respectively.
Despite the war and political crisis, Israel remains among the ten happiest countries in the world. However, the country dropped from fifth to eighth place in the rankings, marking its second consecutive decline since reaching fourth place in 2023.
Furthermore, the report highlights that young Israelis top the global list in terms of social connections, followed by Mexico and Argentina. However, in the category of freedom, Israel ranked 87th out of approximately 130 countries analyzed.
In contrast, the United States fell to 24th place, its lowest level in the report's history, with a decline in life satisfaction linked to increased loneliness and lack of social support. Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, and Lebanon ranked as the least happy countries in the world.
