According to the latest Tortoise ranking, published in September this year, Israel moved from fifth to ninth place between 2019 and 2024. The Tortoise Global AI Index aims to analyze the complex landscape in 83 countries that have chosen to invest in AI.
In the Oxford rankings, Israel fell from twentieth to thirtieth place.
In this context, a report by State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman was published on November 12, stating that the decline in the ranking is related to a lack of a national strategy, as the government has not followed the recommendations of professional committees nor has it allocated adequate budgets.
The Ministry of Science and Technology did draw up a plan in 2022, but it was shelved after the change of government in 2023.
To maintain leadership in AI, Englman's report calls on the Prime Minister to oversee the progress of these policies through the national council, in order to ensure that national objectives are met.
“It’s unbelievable, Susana…” And, we (boasting) say the retired woman “hold on to the edge of the Jewish cloak… Wisdom is going to sneak in!” It’s strange.
