The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced this Wednesday the formation of a new “anti-terrorist” unit, which will operate in the border communities of Gaza and will be made up of reserve soldiers and veterans of elite units residing in this area.
“As part of the lessons learned in the initial on-the-ground investigations of the events of October 7, It was decided to establish the unit whose objective is to provide a rapid response to terrorist incidents in the border area with Gaza.“, is detailed in a statement.
Until now, Hundreds of soldiers who are in the selection process have applied for the first training that will take place in the coming weeks.
The idea that the FDI is looking for with the creation of this unit is that it is made up of reservists who have previously served in special forces and that they live in communities bordering Gaza or nearby towns so that they can act quickly in the event of any incident.
Criticism from Israeli society continues to haunt both the Government and the Army almost eight months after the Hamas attacks on October 7.
In fact, the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu has yet to take any public responsibility for the massacre of the Palestinian terrorist group.
The only resignation that has occurred during these months was carried out by the former head of Army Intelligence Aharon Haliva, for being considered responsible for the massacre.

I think that on October 7 there were more than 300 soldiers on the border...and it was of no use. Furthermore, the same Israelis who were friends of the Palestinians will return to the kibbutzim. Ergo, will it happen again?
