In recent days the number of foreign airlines that canceled flights to Israel rose to 10: Lufthansa Group, Air Baltic, Air India, Delta and FlyDubai and United Airlines, are some of the companies that suspended flights due to growing tensions in the Middle East.
However, Shmuel Zakai, head of the Civil Aviation Authority, guaranteed the safety of the national airspace, stating that both Israeli authorities and global regulators such as the FAA and its European counterpart have not issued warnings for which airlines have than to avoid flying to Israel.
Zakai explained that the main reason behind the cancellation of flights is that crews are “dissuaded from coming to Israel,” and that passengers believe that they may face cancellations or delays of their flights.
