Tel Aviv confirmed that the chief of the General Staff, Herzi Halevi, held a meeting with the main officials of the armed forces to analyze the situation

El Israeli Army approved this Monday plans for the “different fronts” in view of a possible attack by Hezbollah and Iran, after fear of an imminent attack by Iran and its allies against Israel resurfaced in recent hours.

In a message very similar to the one he published just a week ago, after the elimination in Tehran of Ismail Haniyeh, the former political leader of Hamas, in an attack attributed to Israel, and when an Iranian retaliation seemed imminent, Israel confirmed that the chief of the General Staff, Herzi Halevi, He held a meeting with the main officials of the armed forces to analyze the situation.

“The chief of the General Staff emphasized the continuation of a high level of alert and the efforts to prepare for both an offensive and defense,” a military statement detailed this Monday.

This morning, the Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, assured that his forces are in a state of “surveillance and preparation” faced with the possibility of an imminent attack in retaliation for the elimination of Haniyeh almost two weeks ago and of Hezbollah's military leader, Fuad Shukr, in Beirut.

Gallant, during a meeting of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee of the Knesset (Israeli Parliament), reiterated that the country's defensive capabilities have been reinforced in recent days, but so have its offensive ones.

Last night, via telephone call, the minister spoke with his American counterpart, Lloyd Austin, shortly after the Pentagon ordered the deployment of a guided missile submarine to the Middle East.

However, the Israeli Army insisted last night that “instructions on the home front” have not changed regarding emergencies for the civilian population, in order to refute the information published in Israeli media according to which Iran will carry out its retaliation before Tuesday.

“Following the latest reports on Iran's plans, we clarify that, at this point, there are no changes in the instructions of the internal front,” said the military spokesman. Daniel Hagari in a statement published on social networks.

On the other hand, the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, clashed on Monday with his Minister of Defense, underscoring the deep internal divisions that continue to plague the Government, as the Gaza war risks turning into a regional conflict.

After Israeli media cited Gallant, calling Netanyahu's war goal of achieving a complete victory against the Islamist Hamas movement in Gaza "nonsense," Netanyahu's office issued a statement rebuking Gallant.

“When Gallant embraces the anti-Israel narrative, hurts chances of reaching a hostage deal”the statement said.

Israel's war goal remained "total victory," with the elimination of Hamas and the release of the remaining hostages, kidnapped by Hamas-led gunmen on October 7 last year, the statement added.

“This is the clear directive of Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Security Cabinet, and it binds everyone, including Gallant,” he said.
