Israel: “If Hamas complies with the agreement, Palestinians will be able to return to northern Gaza”

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday that starting next week, they will allow displaced Palestinians to return to the northern Gaza Strip if Hamas complies with the ceasefire agreement in force since last Sunday.

“If Hamas adheres to all the details of the agreement, starting next week, residents of the Gaza Strip will be able to return to the north and instructions will be issued in this regard,” the army’s Arabic-speaking spokesman, Avichay Adraee, said in a message on his X account today.

The Islamic terrorist organization Hamas, for its part, confirmed today in a brief statement that the second exchange between Israeli hostages and imprisoned Palestinian terrorists will take place this Saturday, January 25, as planned.

According to the agreement signed between Israel and Hamas in Doha, in the current first phase, which will last for six weeks, Israeli troops must withdraw from the most populated areas of the Strip and allow "unarmed" residents to return to their homes on foot without being subjected to any inspection.

Gazans who drive will instead be subject to inspection by a private company to be determined by the mediators and Israel.

In addition, Gazans will be able to use the Saladin Highway, also without inspection, starting on the 22nd, so that Israeli troops will have to gradually withdraw from the Netzarim corridor, built by the troops during the war, which divides the Strip in two, from the border with Israel at Kibbutz Beeri to the Mediterranean coast.

“Troops remain deployed in specific areas of the Strip. Do not approach until further notice. Approaching the forces exposes you to danger,” Adraee warned.

The spokesman also warned the Gazan population that it is “dangerous” to approach the Rafah crossing area and also the Philadelphia corridor, the dividing line between the Strip and Egypt, both points where his troops are still operating.

“It is forbidden to approach Israeli territory and the buffer zone. Approaching the buffer zone is extremely dangerous,” he concluded.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed on Monday that they had opened fire in Rafah, despite the truce, after detecting "suspicious individuals who posed a threat to soldiers operating in the area."

The new US president, Donald Trump, said after his inauguration that he has “no confidence” in the maintenance of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and in the conclusion of the three phases of the agreement, although he stressed that the Islamic terrorist organisation is “very weak”.

  1. Hamas and compliance cannot be in the same sentence
Sooner or later, we will return to Gaza to finish the pending work.
    AURORA HATE IS MUTUAL

  2. – They insist on calling the Arabs, who are the ones living in the region, “Palestinians,” but they “forget” that the Jews have been Palestinians for several centuries before Muhammad.
