This week, the Women's World Ice Hockey Championship was held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. There, the Israeli women's team won a historic silver medal in Division III, Group B, just 4 years after its creation.

After an initial loss to Bulgaria, they bounced back with three convincing victories against Estonia, Bosnia and Singapore, with the highlights being goalkeeper Yael Fatiev and forwards Lior Leshem and Pnina Basov, who each accumulated 10 points.

Despite limited preparation time and the absence of two key players due to military commitments, the Israeli team prevailed with solid and cohesive play.

That was not all. During the tournament, anti-Israel demonstrations took place outside the arena and booing during the Israeli national anthem, which put the players' concentration to the test.
