Iran has unveiled a new underground missile storage facility and announced it is manufacturing “new special missiles” amid tensions with Israel and the United States and threats of a possible attack on its nuclear plants to prevent it from developing nuclear weapons.

The underground base was unveiled by the commander-in-chief of the Guard, Major General Hossein Salami, and the commander of the Aerospace Division of the elite Iranian force, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizade, according to images broadcast by state television IRIB.

According to the television report, “dozens of missiles of different types” are stored at this facility.

Hajizadeh described the mountain base as a “dormant volcano.”

Mehr Agency reported that part of the actions of the two operations called 'True Promise' against Israel in April and October 2024, were carried out from this missile base.

The commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Guard announced in another event that “underground missile and drone complexes will soon be revealed, and they will witness the enormity and depth of Iran’s power never seen before.”

Iran has been conducting a series of military exercises in various parts of the country in recent days to improve its combat readiness and test its weapons and military equipment.

One of these exercises, dubbed Eqtedar 1403 (Power 1403), was carried out jointly by the Iranian Army and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard near the Natanz nuclear plant in central Iran to reinforce the facility's air defense.

These military exercises began days after the American portal Axios reported that the White House national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, has presented options to the outgoing president, Joe Biden, for a possible attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, if the country comes close to developing nuclear weapons before January 20, when the Democratic president leaves office.

On that day, Donald Trump will take office as US president. During his first term in office (2016-2020), he withdrew from the nuclear agreement signed between Iran and world powers in 2015, reimposed sanctions on Tehran and adopted the so-called "maximum pressure" policy against the country.

Since then, Tehran has increased its uranium enrichment level to 60%, a level very close to the 90% needed to manufacture atomic weapons. EFE

  1. It is urgent and imperative that Israel must attack Iran's nuclear plants. The only way out will be to continue sending ever more powerful and destructive missiles to Israel.
