The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on Thursday the death of two terrorists while trying to place explosive devices on the northern border of the Hebrew country, when they were bombed by fighter planes.
"The soldiers directed artillery and an aircraft to attack and eliminate the terrorists as they attempted to carry out the attack in the area of the (Israeli military) post of 'Tziporen'," detailed a military statement, which says the incident occurred on Monday.
A few hours ago, Israeli fighters began attacking Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon, with the aim of "to bring security to northern Israel in order to allow the return of residents to their homes, as well as to achieve all the objectives of the war".
The Chief of the Army Staff, Lieutenant Herzi Halevi, recently approved "plans for the northern scenario," according to another military statement.
This means troops are now awaiting government guidelines on how to act in Lebanon without undermining other war aims, including the return of Gaza hostages, according to Israeli media.
