The Israel Defense Forces claimed Wednesday that they had neutralized two Hamas militants in their attacks on the Gaza Strip over the past day.

After a two-month ceasefire, Israel resumed its attacks on Gaza yesterday with aerial bombardments.

According to an IDF statement, its troops attacked "dozens of terrorist targets" across the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours "to undermine the military and governmental capabilities of terrorist organizations and eliminate threats to the State of Israel and its citizens."

In the attacks, they added, they eliminated Yasser Muhammad Harb Musa, whom they describe as "head of security affairs in Hamas's political bureau and former head of the development office of the organization's executive committee."

They say that in his position, Musa "was responsible for promoting and directing terrorist activities against Israel" and that he maintained a close relationship with former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

Israel also claims to have located Muhammad Al-Jamasi, who they say was the “head of Hamas’s Emergency Committee.” Regarding Al-Jamasi, it is reported that he “held key positions in Hamas’s political bureau and in the movement’s leadership” and that he directed operations against Israel.

In a separate statement, the IDF said the night's attacks also targeted "the command center of Hamas's Daraj Tuffah battalion, which is used to plan attacks against Israeli civilians and troops."
