The German Prosecutor General's Office announced this Monday the arrest of a member of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, who is suspected of having sent components to Lebanon for the manufacture of drones that would have been used to attack Israel.
The suspect - of Lebanese nationality and identified as Fadel Z. - was placed at the disposal of an investigating judge accused of having joined Hezbollah no later than 2016.
The specific charge against him is membership in an armed gang abroad.
The prosecution recalls in its statement that Hezbollah is an organization that aims to combat Israel and free Lebanon from Western influences and sees attacks on the civilian population as a legitimate resource.
The organization has nearly 20.000 combatants and is widely recognized as a terrorist organization.
“Hezbollah is blamed for numerous homicides and bombings, mainly against Israeli citizens and facilities,” the statement said.
