The Hamas terrorist group has released the names of three Israeli hostages who will be released today, Sunday, on the first day of the ceasefire in Gaza: Romi Gonen, Doron Steinbrecher and Emily Damari.
All three girls are civilians. Gonen, 24, was kidnapped during the attack on the Nova music festival, and Damari (the only British hostage, 28) and Streinbrecher (31) were kidnapped in Kibbutz Kfar Aza.
The girls were kidnapped on October 7, 2023, during the massacre perpetrated by Hamas in southern Israel, in which around 1.200 people were killed and 252 kidnapped.
Israel has not yet confirmed the names on the list.
On Sunday, when the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was due to come into effect, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the Palestinian Islamic terrorist group of not yet having handed over the names of the three hostages, thus delaying the truce.
Hamas said it was committed to the ceasefire agreement, and said the delay was due to “technical reasons on the ground,” without offering further details.
Shortly afterwards, Hamas's armed wing spokesman, Abu Obeida, published the names of the three hostages on his Telegram channel. Israel has not yet responded to the announcement.
The terrorist group also published a brief message assuring that the names of the three hostages have been handed over to the mediating countries.
