After 12 seasons, its producers announced the end of Curb Your Enthusiasm earlier this year. Last Sunday the last chapter of its history was broadcast on HBO and Max, and viewers were in for a surprise: it was a reprise of the highly criticized finale of Seinfeld, broadcast 26 years ago.
In the episode, Larry David is tried for the charge for which he was arrested in the season premiere: delivering a bottle of water to a friend waiting to vote.
The entire chapter is about the trial, in which many people testify against him. And as always, Jewish culture appears in the plot: for example, the character's ex-girlfriend, Irma Kostrowski, recounts at the trial how Larry stole a pair of shoes from an exhibit at a Holocaust museum.
At the end of the episode, Jerry Seinfeld himself appears, the only one who supports Larry in court.
However, unlike the ending of Seinfeld, in which the characters end up in jail, here the trial is overturned and David is freed despite being considered guilty.
